By using a generic, yet relevant hashtag, our client’s product was in front of people who couldn’t buy from her.

Getting started with using Instagram can seem like a daunting task. However, slow and steady wins the race. Here are some tips that you can start using today to help you get your hashtags, content and Instagram in alignment. Firstly, it’s always a good decision to use the maximum number of hashtags that Instagram allows when using hashtags. Instagram allows up to 30 hashtags to be used per post. Always max this number out. Next, as a growing account, stay away from using hashtags that have 1,000,000+ posts within them. Your content will get lost within the millions of photos, GIFs and videos which can be extremely frustrating when starting out. Instead, nurture hashtags that are smaller. The goal is to become the top post in multiple hashtags. Being the top post will help your content get more eyes, views, followers and eventually sales.
