The new website for the Black Women’s Institute for Health (BWIH) is a robust website designed by NOYA. NOYA also designed the logo and branding for BWIH. Intake forms, online donations, resource libraries and more can all be found on this expansive website.
Divi’s Theme Builder, Advanced Custom Fields as well as Custom Post Types played a grand role in making this website what it is today. BWIH had a number of distinct information types that needed to be displayed and searched for by their website viewers. This is where Custom Post Types come in. Custom post types created for BWIH include:
- Resources: Allowing them to build multiple resource libraries that were organized and displayed by category
- Team Members: Board and team member biographies are able to be easily updated as new members come and old members go.
- Newsroom: Whether its press releases, media coverage and more, the newsroom allows BIWH to quickly and effectively show their press mentions on their website.
- Therapists: A distinct area on their site that powers their therapists directory
- Projects: We used the native projects custom post type to showcase BWIH’s projects such as their Mother Mind’s Initiative and the Voices Unheard Survey.
Each custom post type has a dedicated template within the Divi Theme Builder. This allowed us to maintain a consistent yet distinct layout for each post that was added by BWIH, without disruption. Each custom post type also had a set of specific fields that required use of the Advanced Custom Fields Plugin.
The result is a dynamic, scalable, and user-friendly website that reflects BWIH’s mission and growing impact.
By leveraging Divi’s Theme Builder, Custom Post Types, and Advanced Custom Fields, we were able to create a WordPress website site that is not only visually aligned with their brand but also functional for their day-to-day content management needs. Whether it’s sharing critical resources, amplifying community voices, or highlighting ongoing initiatives, the new BWIH website empowers this new non-profit organization to connect with their audience more confidently and seamlessly.
